Warm Mountain Style in the Heart of Central Oregon

Heartwood is a 6,300 square foot home set among the ponderosa pines of Crosswater in Sunriver. An oversized white oak pivot door sets the tone at the entry. Inside, exposed timber trusses rise over a long kitchen island, a stacked stone fireplace, and a wall of glass facing the trees. White oak carries through the cabinetry, doors, and built-ins, and a steel and oak stair climbs along a stone wall to a second living space upstairs.

Four suites each have their own personality, with details ranging from patterned tile and stone sinks to fluted glass and painted shiplap. A bunk room adds sleeping space for guests. Out back, deep covered patios hold an outdoor kitchen and a firepit under the pines.

The result is a house that feels warm and grounded, made for full tables and long evenings by the fire.
